Maintenance and Care of Chemical Centrifugal Pumps

Jun 04, 2026|

The maintenance and care of chemical centrifugal pumps involve the following key aspects:

Avoid cavitation: Do not operate the pump under cavitation conditions for extended periods, as this can damage the pump body and degrade performance.

Maintain pipeline sealing: Ensure piping is tightly sealed to prevent fluid leakage and maintain the pump's operational efficiency.

Monitor current: Avoid prolonged operation with excessive flow rates or motor overcurrent conditions; regularly monitor the operating current to prevent motor overheating and damage.

Dedicated supervision: Assign personnel to monitor the pump during operation to promptly detect and address any anomalies, ensuring safe operation.

Regular inspection and maintenance: Prolonged operation can lead to increased noise and vibration due to mechanical wear. In such cases, shut down the unit for inspection and replace bearings or wear parts as necessary. Major overhauls should be performed on schedule, typically once a year.

Bearing lubrication: Lubricate the bearings every 500 hours of operation to ensure proper lubrication. Pumps with motor power exceeding 11 kW are equipped with lubrication ports, allowing lubricant to be injected directly using a high-pressure grease gun.
