Operating Instructions For Chemical Centrifugal Pumps

Jul 05, 2026|

1. Installation and Commissioning:

Before installing the centrifugal pump, determine the installation location and ensure there is adequate space for operation and maintenance. Select appropriate piping based on the pump's connection method. After installation, commission the pump by checking the motor rotation direction, adjusting the flow rate, and inspecting the seals.

2. Starting and Stopping:

Before starting the pump, verify that the pump and piping are free of blockages and leaks, and ensure a sufficient liquid supply. Follow the startup sequence: open the inlet valve, start the motor, and gradually open the outlet valve to bring the pump to operating conditions. To stop the pump, close the outlet valve first, then the inlet valve, and finally shut down the motor.

3. Operation and Maintenance:

During operation, regularly inspect the pump body, piping, and seals to ensure proper functioning. Monitor for issues such as debris clogging the inlet or excessive motor temperature. Address any abnormalities promptly; this includes replacing lubricants and seals and performing general maintenance on pump components.

4. Troubleshooting:

If a malfunction occurs, quickly identify the cause and take appropriate corrective action. Common issues include failure to start, pump malfunction, or abnormal noise during operation. Troubleshooting methods vary depending on the specific problem and may include clearing piping, replacing seals, or adjusting the motor rotation direction.
