China-Malaysia RCEP Origin Electronic Data Exchange System Launched on June 1

May 29, 2026|

According to the General Administration of Customs, the China-Malaysia Origin Electronic Information Exchange System went live on June 1, 2026. It allows real-time sharing of electronic data for RCEP certificates of origin.

The system supports RCEP certificates, back-to-back certificates, and ASEAN origin documents. Certificate data is shared directly between Chinese and Malaysian customs offices. Malaysian importers no longer need to manually upload certificate copies when submitting paperless customs declarations. With automatic data checks, customs clearance moves faster and the chance of document errors drops.

A transition period will remain in place until November 30, 2026. Chinese exporters of pumps, valves and machinery can still apply for RCEP preferential tariff rates and benefit from these streamlined customs processes.
